Stripe Boxy Tshirt Dress with Tail by Bassike

Pop quiz, hotshot: It’s 35 degrees, you’re headed to a family BBQ with kids, dogs, alcohol and a whole lot of food. What do you wear? WHAT DO YOU WEAR?!

Answer: A giant, oversized T-shirt dress that you can tuck into your undies when the day gets too hot. Duh

Where do you go when you need such a thing? Well you go back to Bassike, pronounced like basic, but providing so much more.

While you can now get a lot more from Bassike than just basics, they originally established themselves in 2006 as the go to brand for (I want to say basics but I won’t) everyday wardrobe staples.

Their jersey pieces are 100% organic cotton, light as a feather, but weighty enough to be worn without feeling naked and they get an A plus for their “Made in Australia” tag…

#OOTD: Hot and Really Cold

Keira Lennox

{ Wearing: Olive & Oak sweater (m.marie); AE hi-rise skinny jeggings; Vince Camuto ‘Colby’ drawstring bag; SIMILAR leather loafers; Via Spiga wool coat (Hautelook) }

In case you’re wondering, that’s not lint on the front of my sweater; it’s sheet moss from a plant I delivered this afternoon (hashtag florist problems).

This morning, C and I left the house before the sun came up to do a downtown walking tour with some folks from city government. It was cold. Teeth-chattering, steam-breathing, can’t-write-the-notes-you’re-supposed-to-take-as-Main-Street-secretary (oops) icy.

By lunch, it was 70 degrees and I burned up in this sweater running deliveries all over town.

Florida, I don’t know what to do with you.

Five things on Friday

write meg!

Catching Air1. We’re starting our baby registry tomorrow. As a (nervous) first-timer, moms and dads of the world: what should we include? What can we do without? I’m assuming the store will have a handy-dandy guide for us — but that, like the bridal registry, it will include “must-have” items that are actually impractical and unnecessary. But where I knew I didn’t need gold-laced bone china, I don’t know a darn thing about baby paraphernalia. Send help.

2. I’ve found my reading mojo once more . . . and man, it feels good! With January drawing to a close, I’ve finished five books this month and am wrapping up a sixth. Considering I think I read four books total in the fall, I’m feeling great about striding toward my 55-book goal for 2015. But more importantly, I’ve returned to losing myself in stories — always my favorite way to relax…

urban outfitters just got a major beauty upgrade

Keira Lennox

Fellow natural beauty junkies, rejoice!

While scrolling through my Facebook news feed this morning — so in premature vacation mode, so ready for a cocktail and sunshine — I stumbled upon this post from Lucky: 14 Reasons You Need to Make Urban Outfitters Your New Beauty Destination.

I haven’t shopped at Urban Outfitters since my early 20s; besides their basics (I wouldn’t mind a SkarGorn tee or two in my closet) the clothes and accessories don’t really jive with my nearing-30 classic/conservative style.

But they just gave me a reason to give them another shot…

In a recent update to their beauty department, UO added a bevy of unique products you don’t see everywhere: ” Hard-to-find Korean brands, French pharmacy favorites and cool, indie apothecary lines.” (Lucky).

I’m especially excited to see they carry the complete line of Embryolisse (can’t live without this multi-tasking moisturizer) and…
